There are three kinds of classification methods advocated by medical equipment, namely, diagnostic equipment, therapeutic equipment and auxiliary equipment.

1. Diagnostic equipment can be divided into eight categories: X-ray diagnostic equipment, ultrasound diagnostic equipment, functional examination equipment, endoscopy equipment, nuclear medicine equipment, experimental diagnostic equipment and pathological diagnostic equipment.

2. Therapeutic equipment can be divided into 10 categories: ward nursing equipment (bed, trolley, oxygen cylinder, gastric lavage machine, needle-free syringe, etc.); surgical equipment (operating bed, lighting equipment, surgical equipment and various tables, stands, stools, cabinets, including microsurgery equipment); radiotherapy equipment (contact therapy machine, shallow treatment machine, depth treatment machine, accelerator, 60 cobalt treatment machine, etc.). Radium or 137 cesium intracavitary therapy and afterloading device therapy; nuclear medical treatment equipment-treatment methods include internal irradiation therapy, application therapy and colloid therapy; physical and chemical equipment (generally divided into phototherapy commerce, electrotherapy equipment, ultrasound therapy and sulfur therapy equipment) and laser equipment-medical laser generator (commonly used are ruby laser, helium neon laser, carbon dioxide laser). Argon ion laser and YAG laser etc.); dialysis treatment equipment (commonly used artificial kidneys include flat-plate and tubular artificial kidneys); body temperature freezing equipment (semiconductor cold knife, gas cold knife, solid cold knife, etc.); emergency equipment (cardiac defibrillation pacing equipment, artificial ventilator, ultrasonic nebulizer, etc.); and other treatment equipment (hyperbaric oxygen chamber, ophthalmology high frequency chromium). It can be used as an instrument, an electromagnetic iron absorber, a vitreous cutter, a blood separator for adults, etc. These belong to the special treatment equipment of each department, and can be separately divided into one category if necessary.

3. Auxiliary equipment can be divided into the following categories: disinfection and sterilization equipment, refrigeration equipment, central attraction and oxygen supply system, air conditioning equipment, pharmaceutical machinery equipment, blood bank equipment, medical data processing equipment, medical video camera equipment, etc.

Medical apparatus and instruments

There are three categories of medical devices in hospitals, namely, diagnostic and therapeutic categories, and the different requirements of different levels of medical devices necessary for medical devices.

1. Diagnostic equipment can be divided into the following categories:

Physical diagnostic instruments (thermometers, sphygmomanometers, microscopes, audiometers, various physiological recorders, etc.), imaging (X-ray machine, CT scanning, magnetic resonance, B-mode ultrasound, etc.), analytical instruments (various types of counter, biochemical, immunological analyzer, etc.), electrophysiology (such as electrocardiograph, electroencephalograph, electromyograph, etc.).

2. Treatment equipment can be divided into the following categories:

Ordinary surgical instruments, photoconductive surgical instruments (fiberoptic endoscopy, laser therapeutic apparatus, etc.); auxiliary surgical instruments (such as various anesthesia machines, ventilators, cardiopulmonary bypass, etc.); radiotherapy machinery (such as deep X-ray therapy machine, cobalt 60 therapy machine, accelerator, gamma knife, various isotope therapeutic devices); and other categories (microwave, hyperbaric oxygen, etc.).

3. The grade requirements of necessary medical devices in hospitals can be divided into three categories as follows:

Categories I, II and III. That is to say, the first category refers to the medical devices that can ensure their safety and effectiveness through routine management; the second category refers to the medical devices whose safety and effectiveness should be controlled; the third category refers to the medical devices implanted into the human body to support and maintain life; the medical devices that have potential dangers to the human body and whose safety and effectiveness must be strictly controlled.

It is worth noting that if a medical device contains one and two categories, then the medical device is the second category. If a medical device contains two or three categories, then the medical device belongs to three categories. By analogy, you can draw the same conclusion.

With the development of electronic technology, automatic and semi-automatic medical devices such as electronic sphygmomanometer, blood sugar tester and electronic thermometer have come into the market one after another.
